This is a three part session on psychological health and safety in healthcare practices by Amy Oliver and Dr. Carly Crewe.

  • Part 1

    In Part 1 we discuss how to talk to your employees about mental health and why it matters. We review common reasons why we often don’t ask about mental health (and how to overcome them) available resources for learning more.

  • Part 2

    In Part 2 you will gain an understanding of what psychological health and safety in the workplace is and unique considerations in your practice. We will review the ecological changes required to create psychologically safe environments, introduce the psychologically safe leader assessment, help you gain awareness around the national standard of Canada for psychological health and safety in the workplace, provide tips on assessing your workplace and best practices on change management and planning to move forward in your practice.

  • Part 3

    In Part 3 we introduce healthcare leaders to the 13 psychosocial factors that influence levels of psychological health and safety in the workplace, we elaborate on the unique factors impacting healthcare environments, and provide a coaching framework for healthcare leaders to think through the various factors and their relevance in their practices.
