The mentoring workshop will set the foundation to understand mentoring and its role to support individual and organizational development. The workshop will explore questions for both mentors and mentees to assess how to engage in a mentoring relationship and how mentoring will help advance their career goals. This workshop will explore the challenges that existing mentorship programs face and how to transform mentoring opportunities to be reciprocal to serve both mentors and mentees. Furthermore, this workshop will examine the difference between mentorship and sponsorship and how both can support advancing women and minorities in leadership positions. Mentoring can improve an individual’s professional network and maintaining relationships with mentors can allow one to develop a personal board of directors to support many stages throughout one’s career.
