At one point or another, each one of us will experience the impacts of mental illness, whether in ourselves or someone we love. Our mental health is a vital part of our overall health and it is important that we prioritize caring for our minds as much as we care for our bodies. At times, it can feel overwhelming to know when to reach out for more support, or where to find the right resources for your mental health concern when needed. In this presentation, we will explore what living through the last 2 years has done to our mental health and why you may be feeling exhausted, irritable or even depressed. We’ll look at what mental health is, review some red flag symptoms that should prompt you to seek extra support, as well as an overview of treatment strategies for mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression. As a jumping off point for the remainder of the Wellness Series, Mental Health 101 is foundational for anyone looking to improve their mental health.
